Do you have a Plan B for your life?

Welcome!

We believe that sustainable communities are the solution for the challenges we have ahead, namely, peak oil, global financial and economic crisis, the search for authentic happiness and climate change.

Inspired by the Transition Movement and Permaculture we help people that would like to relocate from Europe and overseas to small cities in Portugal, enabling the ownership of a Coisas do Vizinho Shop.(portuguese version)

Coisas do Vizinho Project is a tool to unleash the power of each community to become sustainable. It starts with a second hand shop , following by Conversas do Vizinho (neighbour`s talks) , Horta do Vizinho (Comunity suported Agriculture System), Serviços do Vizinho (Service Trade System) and a Sistema Monetário Complementar (Local Exchange Trade System).

Our second hand shop works on a 100% margin basis of all that is traded. All the items are left at consignment, being that the the supplier neighbour is many times also, a customer neighbour.

Portugal could be an intelligent option for your Plan B, namely, because it has a climate compatible with a low energy lifestyle all year, safety, relatively cheap cost of living, government investment in renewable energy and population`s strong farming know how.

Would you like to relocate now?

The results of research show that the most important factors contributing towards happiness are, in general, the quality of our relations with our partner, family, friends and the community. The oil civilization promoted values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviours incompatible with real… Continue
